Hiking in Blairsville

Hi all!

Just wanted to make a small post about two of my favorite hiking spots in Blairsville. When I’m not making soap or candles, I love to check out and revisit trails in the area. Blairsville trails are some of the best I’ve visited, so if you love hiking make sure to visit the area! I’ve spent a lot of time on the hiking trails around here and I wanted to share some places that you might want to check out if you’ve never been or are visiting the area!

The first is probably the most popular trail in the Blairsville area: Blood Mountain. While the name might sound menacing, Blood Mountain is extremely popular due to the sheer beauty of the hike and the summit and it intersects with the Appalachian Trail, making it a cool spot to start your hike from! It’s quite steep in some places, so definitely pack some water and snacks. If you’ve done the main trail before, make sure to check out the Lake Winfield Scott side of the mountain, which is far less known than the main trail. Just map out your hike before you set out, it can be a little confusing at times to know which way to go.

The second is my personal favorite hiking trail: Raven Cliff Falls. This eight-mile in and out hike is much less strenuous than it sounds. The terrain is pretty flat, making an easy and enjoyable hike. You’re next to a stream most of the hike, making for some great photos. The turn-back point for this hike is Raven Cliff Falls itself, a really unique waterfall that finds itself encased between two cliffsides.

So there you have it! Two of my personal favorite hikes right here in Blairsville. If you ever find yourself here, make sure to check them out!
